What feels like yesterday, we purchased what we hope to be our forever home. Since we moved in, life has been nothing short of busy, okay crazy, and there's still some projects on my mental never ending to do list.
What could be a formal dining room, we decided to make into a playroom. The space is perfect, but to be honest it wasn't very inviting or anything close to adorable looking, and this little girl deserves a fun space just for her. We had a random small area rug, and there was a low hanging chandelier that in theory was cute, but we would hit our heads on it almost daily. So after the 100th time of my husband hitting his head, we knew that that thing had to go. I put my decor "skills" to work and started making over this room.
Step one, find a new rug. Who knew finding a rug could be such a project. I think I looked at hundreds, from Target, to Wayfair, to RugsUSA, gosh every pop up ad on my social were rugs at this point.
My vision was boho/tribal but definitely simple, nothing too busy. To transform a space you honestly don't need much; a new rug, lighting (a must for us), and some simple decor items, and boom you can do a lot with a little. I'm sharing some pictures of the playroom in our home, and will be linking on my liketoknow.it page soon! I hope you can gather some #decorinspiration from it too.
#honestmama moment- this playroom does not look like this on the norm. I try to do a full clean every Sunday night to start the week off feeling organized, a little OCD thing of mine. This clean look lasts all of two minutes, #lifewithatoddler, but just enough for mama to snap some pictures.
